Gardens in unusual places: vertical

guys central park

Are you afraid of heights? is not a question commonly asked of gardeners in job interviews but might have been the first one asked in this case. And I wonder whether those guys in the suspended platform above need to have a rigging certificate as well as their hort credentials?

We can thank Patrick Blanc, a Frenchman, for designing the lush gardens that swathe all 34 floors of this building near Sydney’s Railway Square. The foliage has been providing a welcome green rest for the eyes of passing Broadway commuters for over six years now….and still going strong thanks to hi-rise gardeners like the ones replanting a panel up there.
