You win some, you lose some

My rock lilies (dendrobium speciosum) are a joy to look at this year, but my lovely little pink kingianums, usually reliable, got their buds munched by some unidentified invisible predator before they had a chance to open. Sad. Consulting Mr Google, it was probably thrips!!! Horror. What to do?
