Doomed to be a one-off

This summer, my hydrangeas put on a particularly splendid display. I’m told that one of the tricks for  encouraging them to flower is pruning them at just the right time. Trouble is, I forget exactly when I pruned them last year. Just one of the hazards of being an elderly gardener, I guess. Should’a taken notes.
